Fairfield Attic Renovation

An underutilized attic space in this Fairfield, CT home was converted to a two-bedroom, two bathroom guest suite complete with a common room and laundry. The project involved adding dormer windows to bring in natural daylight and working around existing infrastructure. The project was completed on a fast-track schedule: project planning commenced in January, construction started after Memorial Day and the owners were able to use the space by Labor Day.
Dormer windows were added and an angled ceiling was installed to give the impression of a bunk room to accommodate grandchildren overnight. A closet door reveals the true angle of the roof. Extensive coordination in the planning phase enabled custom bed frames and storage and integrated upholstered panels. A consistent palette enabled the use of multiple bold wallpapers and patterns.
